Field research is a foundation of NC State Extension research, and provides valuable information for farmers to make data-informed decisions. The NC State Soil Microbiome and Soybean Extension programs are conducting multi-year trials evaluating the field efficacy of microbial biostimulants and the impact of biological products on soybean production. This work leverages small plot trials, installed by the Official Variety Testing (OVT) Program, and on-farm trials in collaboration with Extension agents and farmers with the On-Farm Trial (OFT) program. This video describes the importance of field trials, and highlights the OFT program.
